Make sure everything’s taken care of come moving day
To make your move a success, you’ll need to plan out everything in advance, from finding a babysitter (if you have children) to assigning someone to meet the moving truck at the new residence and another person to stay at the old apartment to hand the keys over to the new tenant.

Be logical and practical when assigning tasks. For instance, don’t ask your strongest friend to stay behind at your old apartment. You’ll need him to carry the heaviest loads. Instead, ask your feather light, yet responsible and courteous friends to take care of the keys and related tasks, such as ordering pizza and making sure everyone’s thirst is quenched. That way, you can capitalize on all the muscles and brawn at your disposal.

During the move, you will need guide your movers and tell them where each item should be placed. You may be tempted to jump into the action and help with the boxes, but the whole process will go much smoother and faster if you stay put!

Lead your pack

If you want to avoid moving chaos and being bombarded with thousands of questions about where to place this or that item, consider assigning each individual particular tasks to be completed at given times. Keep track of everyone’s tasks using a list, then put your foreman skills to the test once the fun begins.
